- Musical Theatre Workshops
(with 4 singers, a director & musical director) - Set and Lighting Design
(make and light a scale 1:50 miniature set) - A Variety Show
VARIETY SHOW

Tickets for the show only can be bought for £5
Suitable for children 8+ and newcomers to opera.
The Variety Show includes scenes from some of the world's best loved operas, operettas and musicals. At the end of the Musical Theatre Thursday, parents collecting children can come earlier to see the Variety Show.
The performance lasts 45 minutes.

PERFORMANCE PROJECTS
Jan/ Feb and May/June
Tailor made Performance Projects enable schools to write, design, compose and perform short musical pieces. Teachers attend an initial INSET session. This is followed by a day of Lighting and stage craft workshops in schools and culminates with a Performance Day at Clonter Opera Theatre where Clonter Theatre Stage Managers and a Lighting Director help schools present their pieces in a professional way. These are then performed and filmed. There are optional evening performances for friends and family to attend. Costume Design Workshops were also included in the Peformance Day.

EDUCATION NEWS 2008-2009
Over 1000 children from 23 different schools have participated in our Musical Theatre Days and Performance Projects so far this academic year.
Clonter Opera’s Musical Theatre Days saw record numbers attend and 8 schools elected to participate in our follow-up Performance Projects.
Performance Projects Teachers and pupils were guided through the creative process from sketch ideas to fully staged performances. Budding stage managers, lighting designers, documentary teams, musicians, performers and directors discovered their hidden talents.

Set, lighting and costume design workshops took place both in schools and
at Clonter in addition to Musical Theatre workshops and variety shows.

Free Dress Rehearsal Tickets for Cosi fan tutte and Rigoletto are available to all those who attend our workshops including their teachers and families.
